Instructions for online students

General

Online students will read the same materials and listen to the same lectures as inclass students. They will simply do all this online. The lectures are delivered as podcasts, and the lecture slides are available online too. All readings are the same for both versions of the course.

Exams

To take exams, online students will log onto this website, log in, and then select the entry for anthro 1050. All exams are open book.

How to do well

1. Podcasts are treacherous. It is very tempting to put them off until later. In the last few days before an exam, there simply isn't time. Students who fall into this trap end up with Ds and Es. As an online student, you must keep to a schedule.
2. Be prepared to post on the listserv. Since it's anonymous (unless you sign your name), no one should be embarassed to ask questions. Posting is optional, at least for the first third of the course. If few students post, however, we'll make it part of the grade.
