Especially during the last decade, Internet industry has shown a dramatic growth,
it has gone far beyond the limited uses and introduced a brand new market all
over the world, thus Internet is considered to be the most remarkable development
of the millennium. Since the Internet was born with the development of former
non-commercial networks -ARPANET and NSFNET- and the interconnection of others
is not prohibited, an unmatched rollout has prevailed. Moreover, the new trend
for establishing the Information Society, new employment and revenue potentials,
and convergence or merger between Internet and other markets are significant
indicators for the future growth of Internet. Multi-disciplinary analysis of
Internet market arises as an essential requirement for those parties who could
not stand being excluded from the advances that will most probably guide the
future of humanity. In this respect, this article will try to cover technical,
financial and regulatory aspects of Internet industry with regard to both global
and local applications.
