ECONOMY: A CGE APPROACH
Cemal ATICI (Adnan Menderes University)
This study examines the impacts of complete trade liberalization in terms of
tariffs and export subsidies on the household income distribution and agriculture
intensive sectoral output using a Computable General Equilibrium framework.
Results show that over the long run tariff specific liberalization raises the
incomes of the households, although the high income households benefits more.
Output of tobacco decreases noticeably while that of agribusiness rises. Export
specific liberalization does not affect the household income and the real GDP
in significant scale while the complete trade liberalization yields higher increase
in GDP although not substantial.
