Beginnings of an Environmental Link Page

World Resources Institute. A search about the WRI at Utah Mailing List Archives will for instance lead you to a very positive Book Review of one of their main publications. It seems well funded, lots of information, but reading them one gets the impression that our governments act responsibly in the face of the environmental crisis. I am convinced that this is not the case; therefore I am using this site with caution, there may be some greenwashing going on.

Worldwatch Institute: if you register, you can download many of their reports that are over 1 year old for free.

Friends of the Earth

CDL/LOC Environmental Information Resources is no longer maintained, but has good links etc.

Envirolink

Corp Watch and Corporate Watch are two web sites promoting corporate social responsibility. Many corporations commit crimes against the environment; even though such crimes are possibly perfectly legal in their country we should watch them and make them accountable. Corporate Watch writes: "the earth is not dying, it is being killed, and those who are killing it have names and addresses." Right on! A much tamer version of this is the As You Sow Foundation.

Institute for Global Communications

An interactive web site (like a slide show) on the Yucca Mountain nuclear dump site can be accesses from here. It does not give the criticisms of the site, but it shows how powerful the www can be as an educational tool.
